Because Life Happens

My brain is wired differently

This was supposed to be an introductory post weeks ago, but by the time I got here to finish it I had to delete everything I wrote, because it simply didn't feel me any longer. Not because it was not true, rather because I wanted to tell the same thing differently.

I will turn 45 in January 2027, and just a couple of weeks ago I found out that I have ADHD.

I have lived probably half of my life not knowing the reason why I do things differently than other people, why I feel weird around people who don't understand I'm multi-passionate. At least this is how I defined myself: a multi-passionate creator.

Yes, by degree I'm a teacher - I was never really good at it, and anyway I didn't practice that profession long enough to really improve. By degree I'm also a journalist - I'm quite good at it, but got tired of the politics behind the media scenes. By degree I'm also a political scientist. Never really practiced it, I used it in journalism.

My mother tongue is Hungarian, I speak close-to-native English, but I learned German, Italian and Greek.

I was born and raised in Hungary but have been living in the UK for 8 years now. In the past 15 years I have been editing and publishing books, in Hungarian and English as well, but I recently started drawing and creating digital assets for multiple platforms.

I don't have a straight career path, and it looks like it bothers people more than me. Since I got my ADHD diagnosis, everything started to make sense. Now I know that I'm not lazy or undisciplined — my brain is simply wired differently.

So don't be surprised if I write about what is my favourite muffin recipe, or what Procreate brush set I created an hour ago, or what is my connection to Indian culture. It's all me.
